The basics

File and quality terms
MP4
The most common video file format, playable on nearly all phones and computers. SSSTik saves videos as MP4 when that format is available from the source.
HD
High definition, meaning a sharper image. SSSTik provides HD when TikTok hosts an HD version of the clip. It doesn’t upscale, so a low-resolution upload stays low resolution.
Re-encoding
Converting a video into a new file, which can reduce quality. SSSTik doesn’t re-encode. You get the file as TikTok stores it.
Watermark terms

The TikTok logo and the creator’s username shown on top of a video. Files saved with TikTok’s own save button usually include it.
Watermark-free version
A copy of the video without that overlay. SSSTik doesn’t remove or blur watermarks. When TikTok provides a version without the watermark, SSSTik links to that file directly.
Content terms
Public post
A video anyone can view without following the account. SSSTik only works with public posts, and it can’t save content from private accounts.
Stories
Short updates that expire after 24 hours. SSSTik also works as a stories downloader, so you can save a story while it’s still live.
Deleted content
Posts removed by the creator or by TikTok. Once a post is gone, no downloader can get it back, so save important videos early.
